The above image links to an example Production Framework for managing the development of games & interactive media. The framework can be simplified as such:
> There are 3 swim-lanes of activities - PEOPLE, PRODUCT, PROCESS - that run horizontally across different development phases of a project
> Each development phase ends with a PRODUCTION GATE with a unique set of deliverables and acceptance criteria
Whenever I join a new project, I start with a template such as this, and then tailor it according to the project's own unique characteristics, teams, and objectives. Most of the activities remain, however, as each should be addressed in some capacity for every project.
